DALE FIELDER October 3, and 11, 2015
Dear Jazz Enthuiasts,
Please forgive my negligence in getting word out about my gigs. One of my dear friends just scolded me about it and she's right! However, I did take the summer off to enjoy life a little bit after our Room 5 gig back in June. Even took a REAL vacation down to St. John, Virgin Islands to relax! As a musician, I think being well-rounded and having various life experiences outside of music makes for making better music. For what else is it we are doing but expressing our impressions of life through music! The richer and more varied one's life experiences are, the richer the music, IMHO. Plus I've never been one to look at myself as having a 'music career'. Music is not what I do, but what I AM. It's a little more spiritual then that. In fact I like saying when asked what my religion is that I am a devout musician!
Well, getting back on the saddle, I have 2 great performances coming up for October 2015. Saturday, October 3rd I will be fronting the Pat Senatore Trio at Herb Alpert's Vibrato Grill Jazz in Bel-Air. I believe the band will be Tom Ranier on piano, Ramon Banda on drums and Pat on bass. One of the best jazz rooms in the country for sure and NEVER a cover charge. And on Sunday Oct 11th my band, the DFQ~Dale Fielder Quartet with Jane Getz-piano, Bill Markus and Thomas White on drums, continue our 20th Anniversary Performances (as every gig in 2015 is touted) at the 6th annual Simi Valley's Dream Cuisine Festival. It features gourmet foods form 50 of the finest restaurants in Simi Valley, Moorpark, Thousand Oaks and San Fernando Valley; fine wine from California wineries; beer from well-known breweries; desserts from the finest bakeries and dessert establishments in the Southland. We play from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, but the event continues until 9:30pm with other music. $60 per person or $600 for a reserved table of 10.

Here's something you might enjoy seeing! One day I was going through some old CDs and DVDs and found this. It’s a Clarion Jazz Promo Video for the Dale Fielder Group/Force from back on May 31, 2002! It features Group/Force members: Dale Fielder-alto sax / Danny Grissett-piano / Trevor Ware-bass and Thomas White-drums. Also featured on the clip is KLON 88.1 FM (now KJAZ) host James Janisse from a live performance of the day at a hotel in Long Beach, if I remember correctly. Wow! As of 2015, that's over 13 years ago! Amazing! That band was really something else! The beautiful thing about old promos, is that they’re still relevant and you can still use them, as long as product is still available. Dale Fielder Group/Force CDs: “Howling Monk” , “Suite: Clarity” and “The Hipster” are still available on iTunes and CD Baby: http://www.cdbaby.com/Artist/DaleFielder1
